Two of my paintings "innocent love" and "dark luck", that I made for a story written by Raha Mazaffari are published in this magazine.
Maria Hosein (illustrator), Arezo Popal (author), and Afghanic e.V. (publisher) collaborated in 2021 to bring this (non-profit) book project to life. The goal is to promote literacy and multilingualism to support integration processes.
The story revolves around a young girl named Leyla who learns about scary monsters from her older brother and becomes so frightened that she loses her courage. The printing of this book was supported by the Bonn Donation Parliament. You can purchase the book for €4.99 (plus shipping) by contacting hosein@afghanic.de All proceeds will be donated to the Dewanbegi Clinic in Kabul to provide medical treatment for Afghans who have no financial means.
As part of an Erasmus project involving the University of Hildesheim in collaboration with other universities in Turkey and Poland, I was commissioned to create an illustration by the Music Institute. This artwork, featured on the poster, represents my personal interpretation of Franz Schubert's String Quartet No. 14 and was specifically crafted for a performance of the same name within the scope of this project. The project was carried out under the expert guidance of Helmut, a renowned lecturer in cello and chamber music, as well as the conductor of the university orchestra at the University of Hildesheim.
